...Another round of snow for northern California mountains...
.A Pacific frontal system will move through northern California
today bringing heavy snow over the mountains with snow levels down
to many passes. In addition to the snowfall, gusty winds are
likely at times especially during the day today. If planning
travel through the Sierra Cascade range or northern mountains today
through early Saturday, expect delays and chain controls. Be
prepared and check the latest weather and road reports before
departure.

SATURDAY...
* TIMING...Snowfall increasing this morning and continuing
through Saturday
morning.
* SNOW AMOUNTS...10 to 14 inches above 5500 feet with up to two
feet highest elevations.
* MAIN IMPACT...Heavy snow over the passes with chain controls
and travel delays likely.
* OTHER IMPACTS...Gusty winds up to 40 mph highest elevations
causing white-out conditions at times.
