...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 4 PM WEDNESDAY TO 10 AM
PST THURSDAY...
* WHAT...Snow expected. Plan on difficult travel conditions,
including during the evening commute on Wednesday. Total snow
accumulations of 5 to 8 inches, with localized amounts up to 14
inches above 7000 feet, are expected.
* WHERE...Greater Lake Tahoe Area.
* WHEN...From 4 PM Wednesday to 10 AM PST Thursday.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Be prepared for reduced visibilities at
times. Localized whiteout conditions possible over the Sierra
passes.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Even light snowfall causes major travel delays, especially during
periods of high traffic volume. Be sure to allow extra time to
reach your destination. Leave extra space between vehicles since
it takes longer to stop on slick roadways. The latest road
conditions can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.

...LAKE WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM TO 4 PM PST WEDNESDAY
FOR LAKE TAHOE...
The National Weather Service in Reno has issued a Lake Wind
Advisory for Lake Tahoe, which is in effect from 10 AM to 4 PM
PST Wednesday.
* Winds: Southwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.
Winds will continue to increase into Wednesday evening. Winter
Weather Advisory is in effect starting 4 pm Wednesday.
* Wave Heights: 2 to 4 feet in the afternoon, especially along the
north and east shores.
* Small boats, kayaks and paddle boards will be prone to capsizing
and should remain off lake waters until conditions improve.
Instructions:
Check lake conditions before heading out and be prepared for a
sudden increase in winds and wave heights. Consider postponing
boating activities on the lake until a day with less wind.
